• Unalloyed and low-alloy steels (e.g., 11 373, 12 050, C45, C55)

• Materials after forming (forgings, castings)

Soft annealing:

• Tool steels (e.g., 19 573, 19 436)

• Bearing steels (100Cr6) – to improve machinability
